Liberty Recycling aims to be a model social enterprise progressing people affected by drugs and alcohol into mainstream opportunities drug free.

Mission Statement

Liberty Recycling is a textiles recycling social enterprise that aims to provide people affected by drugs with the stability, work experience, skills and confidence needed to move into mainstream employment, training and further education, all within a supportive work environment.

Our Vision

Liberty Recycling is a nationally recognised model social enterprise delivering a quality drug rehabilitation programme combined with certified training and education resulting in real progression for participants into mainstream opportunities. Liberty Recycling will offer work in a seamless environment of referral, support, guidance, after care and supported progression.

Key Objectives

The key aims and objectives as identified in the 2010 Strategic Plan are:

1. Organisation Development

  • Develop the capacity and structure of the organisation and improve management and staff communications to recognise the recent expansion of the project and to allow for the future development of the project, its staff and trainees
  • Achieve recognition of the Liberty Recycling brand on a par with other charitable organisations such as Saint Vincent de Paul and Irish Cancer Society.
  • Improve communications and partnerships with key stakeholders including charity suppliers, local authorities, Department of Social Protection, public representatives, recycling bank hosts, our customers, project trainees and staff

2. Rehabilitation

  • Offer a comprehensive range of rehabilitation services including access to residential treatment facilities
  • Develop a rehabilitation treatment team within Liberty Recycling
  • Implement the Quality Assurance in Alcohol and Drugs Services (Quads) quality standard
  • Position Liberty Recycling within the Tiered Model continuum of care and communicate this position to referral agencies, funders, staff and participants e. Strengthen partnerships with training and rehabilitation agencies including the Local Drug Task Forces, DSP, HSE, referring drugs projects, prescribing services and support agencies

3. Operational

  • Increase the level of training and education available to project participants and focus participants on progression
  • Increase the volumes of clothing recycled annually
  • Sustain existing sources of funding and put in place a fundraising strategy to sustain and improve services, facilities and outcomes for participants
  • Ensure best practice is adhered to in health and safety policies and procedures
