What We Do › Our Training Programme

Each year Liberty's Participants gain over 100 certified training awards in subjects as diverse as forklift driving, Fetac Computer Applications and Maths, Sage Payroll and ECDL.

Liberty Recycling aims to progress people drug free into mainstream opportunities. Over the past 5 years 59 people have moved into employment and another 14 into further education and training.

Liberty Recycling is a FETAC accredited training centre. Training takes the form of practical on the job instruction and work experience and formal accredited training.

Current in-house Fetac courses, delivered by the (ETB) Education Training Board tutors, include:

Fetac Level 4

  • Computer Applications
  • Recycling Skills

Fetac Level 3

  • Computer Literacy
  • Communications
  • Personal Effectiveness
  • Self-Advocacy
  • Consumer Awareness
  • Mathematics
  • Preparation for Work
  • Office Procedures
  • Food and Nutrition

General Literacy classes

Participants also receive training externally in courses designed to improve their progression options into employment and further training or education. Popular courses include:

  • Forklift Training
  • Driving theory test
  • Heavy Goods Vehicle (HGV) driver training
  • Manual Handling
  • Sage Payroll

Participants can obtain a FETAC Major Award at Level 3, the equivalent of a Junior Certificate, while with the project. The Training Officer offers one-to-one support to participants around career guidance and planning for employment, education and training.
